Toyota has officially announced the discontinuation of its retro-styled FJ Cruiser SUV after a 17-year production run. The move comes after the launch of the FJ Cruiser Final Edition in the Middle East, which signaled the SUV's impending retirement. While the FJ Cruiser had already been retired from the US market in 2017, it continued to be sold in other regions like the Middle East, South Africa, and the Philippines until its global discontinuation in December 2022.

The FJ Cruiser Final Edition, which was launched in the last year of production, shared the same specifications as the version sold in the US and Japan back in 2017.Only a limited number of units were produced with unique numbered badges to highlight their exclusivity. The SUV was only available with a 4.0-liter V6 gas engine and a five-speed automatic transmission, with features like Active Traction Control, Vehicle Stability Control, and an electronically controlled locking rear differential offered as standard.

The FJ Cruiser was put together by Toyota subsidiary Hino Motors at the Hamura factory in Japan and shipped to various international markets, including the Middle East, South Africa, and the Philippines. In the Middle East, the body-on-frame SUV carried the equivalent starting price of $41,000, making it one of Toyota's more expensive models.

While the FJ Cruiser was known for its unique and nostalgic design, it faced tough competition from other off-road capable SUVs, like the Jeep Wrangler and the Ford Bronco. Nonetheless, the FJ Cruiser developed a loyal fanbase, and its unique styling and capabilities will undoubtedly be missed by many. However we/Legend Motors have still limited stock left on our inventory , you can directly contact us through website or phone to connect with our expert for more information.
